People learn and understand the information through their senses.
The most common styles of learning are:
Visual : Through seeing
Auditory : Through listening
Kinesthetic : Through touch
Each person has a preferred and convenient way of learning according to their ease. If your learning could be meaningful and efficient, understanding your learning style would be helpful.
Every one of us has one dominant preference for absorbing information. For example, if a person intends to learn how to use a tablet (electronic gadget/handheld device), s/he could use several methods. A visual learner would be comfortable using the manual. S/he would prefer to read up on how to use the various features.
An auditory learner would prefer that someone explain the features of the device. S/he would be uncomfortable going into the details provided in the manual. S/he may finds it time-consuming or have the ability to learn fast through an explanation by someone.
A kinesthetic learner would be comfortable playing around with the tablet. S/he would operate and press different keys to find out what happens.
Understanding the style of your learning will immensely help you to select the right method and mode of learning even in your work environment.
